Today I’m going to be answering a question that was presented to me on Facebook in one of my forums. Jennifer asks “is boosting my Facebook posts linked to my blog posts effective in getting subscribers and/or getting higher page views?” THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE QUESTION JENNIFER!
First of all, not a lot of people subscribe to blog posts anymore. That’s something that has kind of fallen to the wayside. Most people I know don’t “subscribe” to blog posts. They are more likely to subscribe to an email list on a blog. The second part of your question, “…can boosting posts get me higher page views?” Absolutely! But keep in mind the numbers are going to surprise you. I was surprised when I reviewed my analytics to find that even with 5-10,000 impressions (eyeballs), there ended up being very small numbers when it came to actual interaction or conversions. People are seeing the boosted post float by in the stream but the actual engagement is always way less.
On the other hand, if the 5 out of 5,000 that actually do engage end up buying your product or hiring you to do something then that is money well-spent, in my opinion. Pick a monthly budget and experiment over about a 90-day period. Do some A/B testing with titles and see what your audience responds to.
The short answer to your question Jennifer…is yes, it’s worth it.
